CSU Works to Give Veterans 'New Start'

As a member of a U.S. Army recon team for eight years, David Kaiser "did some work" in the Middle East, traveled the world and jumped out of airplanes.

On one of those jumps, his parachute tangled on his pack and failed to deploy properly.

"I landed on my head," he said.

The fall knocked Kaiser, now 37, unconscious. He didn't think much of it at the time. But as the years passed, he found himself struggling to hold down a job, his mind clouded by memory lapses and thoughts of death. He got angry easily.
