When a loved one has a traumatic brain injury (TBI), it can be very stressful and confusing for everyone involved. The Support and Family Education (SAFE) Program can help family and friends of veterans and service members with TBI understand the issues they’re facing and receive support and education.
The confidential workshops are free and open to all adult and adolescent family members and friends. The workshops provide opportunities to understand the causes, treatments and medications prescribed for emotional problems related to a TBI; learn about community and educational resources; ask questions and receive emotional support and encouragement from facilitators and other family members and friends in similar situations. All workshops are held Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 PM. Families can attend any session of interest but should register prior to attending.
Sessions are held at St. Francis Health Center in Colorado Springs.
